So, how do you book a dog photographer and how much does it cost?
First, we need to talk. I need some details about what you are looking for to make sure I'm the right photographer for you and that you will be absolutely happy when you look at the finished pictures. My photographic background is in journalism so I like to shoot "on location" at your home, yard, state capitol or favorite dog park. I find out about what your pet likes to do, where he/she is most comfortable, etc. and from that information we come up with our location and pick a time/date. While cancelling outdoor shoots due to bad weather does happen, some of the best photos turn up in the worst of conditions. Fog, clouds, and rain can make an ordinary picture into a special one.
Cost is everyone's biggest concern obviously. My prices are industry standard for a person of my experience and qualifications and they are simple - $175 gets you a professional photo shoot on location, 3-4 hours of photo editing, 5 digital image of your choice, and 40+ photos to choose from. Order as many or as few additional photos as you'd like. Digital images packages are available and I'll even make up some photos for you to post on your Facebook site for free. We specialize in making awesome glossy coffee table style books with your best friend's photos in them. They are a great way to show off your photos for a reasonable price.
Got a special request or need something photographed that ISN'T dog-related??? Well, I can do that too. I've been shooting for 35 years so there's a pretty good chance I've been there, done that.
What equipment do you use?
I use mostly Canon equipment - currently employing a Canon 5d MkII, a Canon 7d, and a wide assortment of Canon professional lenses. In addition, I use a Sony a6000 mirrorless camera for certain shots since that camera is capable of doing things that Canon cameras can't. I shoot in RAW (uncompressed) format and use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop for photo editing. What does all that technospeak mean? It means your pictures are gonna look great!
Can I be in the shots?
Absolutely. Why wouldn't you want to be in a picture with your best friend?
