Steve Dahlgren has been a photographer for over 30 years, starting out in the newspaper and television business in the 1980’s. Steve has lived in Madison’s Midvale Heights neighborhood for 18 years. When he is not working as a full-time firefighter he likes to “focus” his attention on dog photography – capturing images of our wonderful canine friends.

Preferring to photograph the amazing personalities of dogs in places where they are most comfortable, Steve does not “do” posed animal portraits or use sets or costumes. And yes, he does photograph cats, horses, lizards, fish, birds and the occasional human too!
